Want Free Advertising – Inflate an Argument!

Iguanas Bar & Brasserie located on the Central Coast in NSW was little known, particularly if you don’t live anywhere near there, until a week and a half ago.
We all know the story. The two politicians breaking into an argument with the staff and management when asked to move tables has been headlines for more than a week. Such a trivial argument has now gone all the way to the Federal Police and it continues to dominate the daily newspapers.
I decided to do a Google search on the name and more than 94,000 items came up. I gather not all of the items were related to this event and subsequent events but you do have to wonder if all the publicity has actually provided the establishment with advertising they could never have dreamed of purchasing.
Do you think the venue has lost any patronage over the whole issue? I am more likely to believe their patronage has probably doubled. The slogan on their website is “let us entertain you” which I am sure they well did on the night in question.
I am not for one minute suggesting that these politicians behaved very well – that is if the reports are true – but calling in a Justice of the Peace in the early hours of the morning to complete Statutory Declarations seems to be more than an overreaction.
Aside from the whole issue being raised in Parliament this week, over and over again, we are hearing very little in the media of what other business took place there.
