Would This Lure You Back Home?
December 7th 2008 12:28
Apparently, many English police have fled their country over recent years and now call Australia home. There are nearly 400 UK police working in South Australia and nearly 500 in Western Australia and England wants them back.
Leicestershire police have now embarked on a promotional campaign that they hope will encourage many of them to return home. The Homesick and Away campaign focuses on Marmite of all things in the hope that it will lure them home.
The president of the South Australian Police Association, Mark Carroll, is not concerned about the promotion as he thinks it will only encourage officers to return who were planning to do so anyway.
South Australian Police Minister, Paul Holloway, was even more confident. “We certainly don’t think Marmite and Marks and Spencer underwear is going to be anywhere near as an attraction as our lifestyle her in Australia”, he said. (Source ABC online).

Yes, I thought the Marks and Sparks underwear was funnier than the Marmite.

I'm definitely more of a Vegemite fan but I don't think I would live somewhere because of it.
Thanks for visiting.
