Twitter Heading for TV
May 26th 2009 07:33
Seinfield always promoted itself as a show about nothing. I couldn’t actually see this as it was as much about anything as any other sitcoms on TV. That’s not to say you can’t make a show about anything, especially over in Los Angeles.
It was announced today that tweets and twitterers are now the basis for an as yet untitled show. Screenwriter and novelist, Amy Ephron, has created a show that has ordinary people competing with each other while on the trail of celebrities.
Little has been revealed of the planned show so far except that Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment, two pretty notable production companies, are teaming up to create and produce an “unscripted” show where viewers can interact with characters through Twitter.
Sound riveting? It certainly couldn’t be any worse than all those other reality shows we have been served up for the passed decade.
