The Rich Musicians
April 27th 2009 07:59
The Sunday Times published a preview of its list of the 50 wealthiest musicians in 2009 this week and our own Kylie Minogue will debut on the list coming in at number 46.
It’s interesting to also note that the world’s entertainers have taken quite a huge hit this year along with the rest of us and the world’s billionaires.
Even though it will be Minogue’s first time on the list, her estimated wealth has actually declined from $83 million in 2008 to $70 million this year. The full list is to be published tomorrow (Tuesday) but the preview revealed that some of our most popular musicians have seen their fortunes crumble over the past year.
Elton John has supposedly seen his estimated wealth drop from $A490 million to $A360 million this year and former Beatle, Paul McCartney's estimated wealth plunged $A123.5 million.
Even though the drop in the wealth of these musicians is really huge, I doubt very much whether the change in their fortunes will see their lifestyles alter too much. After all, it is only what they are worth on paper really..

It is really about power because they can't hope to spend all that in a lifetime anyway. There used to be a bumper sticker that went "he who dies with the most toys still dies".
There are some things money just cannot buy, although I wouldn't mind having a lot of it myself just for the experience.

Hahaha! I think the bumper sticker explained that although you could probably have a better funeral than others if you were loaded.
