My Problem With Depravity

January 4th 2007 04:56
This world is full of the depraved, the perverted and the utterly licenscious and there is nothing we can do. Forget about calling the police - their hands are tied.

Two days before Christmas, David Vallance was caught filming some school kids who excited his middle-aged, sexual fantasties. ThePeople.Co.Uk reported that Vallance had a "sexual interest" in the teens, as he grabbed footage on his camcorder WHILST DRIVING. Good thing the cops fined him £150 for careless driving.
What a farce! Such a disgustingly desperate act deserves imprisonment, but Vallance got a slap on the wrist. Forget my issue with depravity, this is my problem with authority.

The victim being raped - Walter Nix should die for this
April 9th, 2004 saw a girl commit sexual acts under the duress of a man claiming to be a police officer. And he wasn't even there. David Stewart - found NOT GUILTY - rang McDonalds to say he saw a young girl (who he then described) steal a customer's purse and Assistant Manager Donna Summers was ordered to strip search the girl, and Summer's fiance was to recieve oral sex and sexually spank the victim for 10 minutes.

Anyone who gets their jollies from rape should be strung from the highest tree. In my opinion, they should all burn for their crimes. All it took to scar this girl of 18 was a impossibly stupid manager, her spouse and two men who knew what was happening and did nothing. Every single one of those people involved should be shot, YET THE COURTS DID NOTHING!

What the hell do the courts do? What are police for if they won't protect the innocent? I only hope those teenagers from Werribee are bludgeoned to death, after they sexually abused and urinated on a mentally deficient girl. They published their crimes on DVDs and sold them to other students. I hate living in a world where justice is NEVER served.

It bothers me that David Stewart was judged by his peers (i.e. before a jury) and they let him off. That makes me sad more than angry.

Also, the caller may have been retesting Milgrim's experiment, in which participants were to perform 'learning test' with another 'participant' ( who was actually an actor) and were asked to administer electric shocks for every wrong answer.

After each wrong answer, the shocks became more powerful. 65% of people tested gave up 450 volt shocks, despite screams and pleas for mercy. All of that because a medical professional told them to. Noone refused to participate before 300 volts.

That is appalling! You're right, they should have ALL been jailed. I can not believe that anyone could be as stupid as that assistant manager.

You'd like to think that in instances like that that either of the two people that walked out would have done something. But I guess it's too much to hope for.

That's just sad.

Anthony,

It's time Society got real about such perversions and it's time people were taught NOT to do these things, not just blunder through life thinking they'll be all right.

They need to be told their behaviour is perverted and punished accordingly.

Some of these stories are unbelievably cruel, unfortunately they are REAL.

Thanks for having the courage to talk about them, when so many just don't want to know.

Anthony B,
]
I enjoyed reading your post ...

I'm not going to make hardly any comments because I have a completely different view of justice, mercy and forgiveness than you do ...

About the only thing I'll say is that I really enjoyed the film 'Dead Man Walking' ... because it made me think a bit more deeply about the whole issue of capital punishment ...

David ...

Yes, they should be jailed, but I don't think they should be killed...

Yes, I probably wouldn't shoot them. But definitely jail their asses!

Hi AnthonyB,

I enjoyed reading your post and really understand your angst against the seeming injustice. Plato's Republic comes to mind ... *lol* However, that wouldn't work today ... too many libertines...

It's amazing but true that whilst I lived in India, I witnessed public exhibitions of such criminals who were publicly humiliated in front of their township and peers. Perhaps those boys who tortured that poor mentally handicapped girl should be put in the stockades in the middle of the town square for a few days and nights, where people could throw rotten cabbages and tomatoes at them, as well as abuse and perhaps even urinate on them too... in my mind this not only serves the satisfaction of them becoming victims themselves, but also public satisfaction in being a collective part of the justice that is deserved in such cases. Not to mention the relief of financial burden on our "corrective" institutions. As you say the sadness is that without said punishments, totally correctable behaviour goes unpunished and gets worse ... maybe even escallating next time to more severe crime.

What frustrates me is that the current system hides criminals and allows their heads to be covered, AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN FOUND GUILTY!!! Bloody hell! Why? Because public humiliation is humiliating and degrading... what about the rape victims humiliation?

I think public humiliation is a wonderful punishment and the doing away of it was one of the biggest crimes in history. In my mind, we [the people] lost justice and our power to be a part of it, the day we allowed the governments to pervert justice the day we threw the last tomato!

Lilla

I agree with David's recommendation here on that immensely disturbing movie, "Dead Man Walking," if you haven't already seen it.

Kylie, I share your sentiments - as obvious as that statement may seem. It's just this complete willingness of people to do whatever they are told. Very disturbing.

Thank you Katyzzz. You've really hit the nail on the head. You see police and government authorities on TV talking about drugs, drink driving and the like but rarely speak of solutions to such problems. There seems to be some sort of fear of authority in the general public. People tread very carefully around police, and unfortunately that power can be abused and imitated.

Cheers David, and Cib. You're absolutely correct. My parents and friends describe me as somewhat of an extremist. I don't think anyone shares my sentiments. Compassion, I believe, is a virtue but sometimes my emotions get the better of me. Jails are over-crowded, though...

Lilla, I think I've seen the light. Not all evil people should be shot, some should be humilated first. Yes, I know what you mean. Have you seen Goodfellas? Based on a true story, A young gangsta murders, money-launders, destroys property and deals drugs for years, only to be given a new identity because he pulled a shifty on his mates.

I'd love to be there throwing cabbages and rotten tomatoes. I think that would satisfy my urge to kill everybody.

I have seen Dead Man Walking - it's a brilliant film. Though it was a while ago, and back then I was against capital punishment. Over the years though, I've come to believe that some people are just pure evil and - with insurmountable evidence ONLY - should burn.

It does anger me greatly, though, when people are falsely accused and die needlessly. Maybe harsher sentences and more squalid environments in prisons would suffice.

THANK YOU EVERYONE !! I've learned a lot from your comments.
