That unattainable Lotto win
January 4th 2009 11:53
Don’t we all imagine what we would do with a big lotto win? Quit the job, spend up big and set ourselves up for the rest of our lives.
A man from Connecticut in the US wasn’t so lucky. He died before his winning ticket was even drawn.
The prize was a big one - $US10 million ($A14m).
Donald Peters, a 79 year old retired hat factory worker bought the ticket on the 1 November. Later that day he died of a massive heart attack. His widow, Charlotte, had almost discarded the ticket.
Only last Friday, she cashed in the winning ticket but still in mourning was unable to say how she would spend it.
Talk about bad luck. He had probably been buying lotto tickets all his life.

I'm sure at that age his wife would have liked to have enjoyed spending the money with him. It wouldn't be as much fun spending it on your own, I dare say!
Cheers.
