In quite a brazen attempt to recruit more men to the Liberal Party, Young Liberal Tim Andrews has resorted to the age old tactic of “sex sells”, and some members aren’t too happy about that.
On his own blog, Andrews has posted images of barely dressed women including some in bikinis, one in suspenders and one lying in a bed. The “Babe Theory of Politics” he says on his blog means where there are hot women, men will follow.
Former Sex Discrimination Commissioner and now NSW Liberal MP, Pru Goward, has aired her disappointment at the use of images of scantily clad women at Liberal Clubs at universities across Australia in a bid to attract more young men to the Party.
Goward believes this type of recruiting strips women of their dignity and discredits the Party itself and that members should recognise the importance of belonging to the Liberal Party.
Andrews, an active member of the Liberal Party, was formerly head of the Liberal Students Federation. The reaction to his zealous recruitment tactics has forced him to password protect his blog.
