The God of Commerce?
January 6th 2009 13:35
Many of our nationalities and their various religions have a God of Commerce. In Japan on Monday, thousands flocked to the altar of the Kanda Myojin shrine which was dedicated to commerce god, Ebisu-Sama some 1,300 years ago.
They are hoping the God of Commerce will save them. All worshippers are praying for the tide to turn. Jobs internally look gloomy as do exports that Japan dearly depends on.
In bad times, I guess you just hope anything will help. This is no stranger than any other delusion.
Oh, and the Greeks have one too.
But , where is Australia’s “God of Commerce”?
I think we need one.
