How to Make Everybody Happy
January 29th 2007 12:02
This post began life as a quick how-to guide, but quickly emerged into something far more important - a way of learning from what everybody else does correctly. This is a list of tips from some of the greatest moments in the past two weeks.
Be pleasant and successful ! - How fitting that Channel 7 should finish their Australian Open coverage (and their most popular Open coverage to date) with a win that leaves everybody smiling ! Fernando Gonzales left having played an absolute cracker of a tournament and the Fed Express left with twice the cargo: a history-making victory and over $1 million USD of loot !
Cause problems - Create a diversion! - Channel 4 certainly took the heat off themselves when Shilpa Shetty - a victim of racial abuse - won a brand new car, interview money and the Big Brother Heavyweight Title !! Yay for Shilpa and yay for the show's integrity, which was potentially floating on bodily waste after their incessant coverage of such disgusting behaviour.
[BInnovation? Or stick with what you know?[/B] - Queensland's happy - Peter Beattie may feed his people recycled water, which is potentially cleaner than our normal pipe water, and Steve Bracks of Melbourne looks the hero with his " I will not give Melbourne's citizens dirty water " speech. Don't tell me - yes, I think it is - EVERYBODY is happy !!
Profit off everyone's misery - Windows Vista goes on sale tomorrow !! HIP HIP... HOORAY !! What a terrific year for Bill, whose Xbox 360 has a grand lead over Sony's yet-to-be-released PS3. He's also got Office 2007 out !! Wow ! What a rich, though foul and deceptive, man !
Be Quick, Quick Quick !! Hurry !! - Well, Intel should be very pleased with themselves. Apparently, they are far ahead of any competition with these new Hyper K transistors that constitute computer chips. IBM tried to rain on that parade, but with a dull press release and horrible shipping date. Intel no sooner made the things than they've bragged and shipped it!
So what have we learned? That everybody's happy? Yes? No ! What you should have learned is that it is impossible to make everybody happy.
Gonzales lost to Federer, Shilpa Shetty was vilified for weeks in the BB house and no water refinement technique is perfect - Queensland's water could be poison ! Sony is sad and angry at Gates, and IBM are left licking their wounds...
At the end of the day? Do your best - but make sure YOU are happy

Thanks, KYLIE !!!
Mrs M,
Yep. I hate breezers, but yep. Try Canadian Club. Such a smooth whisky. I can't get enough of it, and on my University student budget, I can manage to drink it like water !!
Thanks Mrs M !!

How boring would the world be if we made everyone happy...how would we gauge when we are sad or disappointed....worst of all who would bitch and whine about injustice, inequality and inflation...ranting makes me happy...
These thoughts make me happy, the secret is to achieve personal joy without dragging others down in an effort to feel better...
time to kick back, toke up and float away...mmmmmmm terminal bliss

It seems to make you happy. Correct. Nobody is ever happy and that's the way it should be. it makes the nicer parts of life taste so much better.
Great comment, John
Cheers
