A close analysis of news, current affairs, politics and social trends..... This is the world as you've never known it...Want to wake up with the Critic ?

Spread some cheer my way, please.

It's Christmas and The Critic is really getting into the holiday spirit. (That's me. I'm The Critic).
But I'm a little stuck on what to get my dear ole Dad.

I'm so excited about the holiday season, I'm decorating my body with a red shirt that says "Merry Christmas", but I don't feel so merry. What on earth will Dad get from me?

This is so frustrating, I can hardly blog! Is anyone else stuck?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Anthony,

Love the tree, glad you're trying to get into the Christmas spirit.

Have you checked out Bunnings - hardware, their web address is right beside you.

Does your dad like sport, try a book on sport or his favourite sportsman.

How about a fun game, one for kids, fill a stocking wiht his favourite things, ask your mum, other men you come into contact with, a paper weight with some feature he likes, a tie?, a DVD, some good oldfashioned slippers, a torch for the car, a gift voucher from various places, a tank full of petrol, a free car wash, offer to clean the windows/gutters for him.

His favouite drink, like Scotch, a good red wine, shorts, T shirt, a pet rock. A computer game.

All suitably wrapped, of course, make it fun, use that imagination of yours, I do hope you cheer up and let us know what Christmas means to you, you seem to be feeling a little glum, next year may be better.

Happy Christmas, good health and a bright and prosperous new year.

katyzzz

Heeey. I like the ecosphere and the paperweight. I love Christmas. It's the happiest time of the year and I couldn't think of any better way to spend it. But finding presents is difficult and I don't like buying crappy things. I'm happy to spend anything short of $200, but it's just so hard to find presents.

I am feeling better. I've spoken to A LOT of people and everyone seems to come up with the same ideas but the ecosphere is very original and I hadn't thought of the paperweight. Something Dad could put in his office is a great idea.

THANKS everyone for your fantastic ideas !!!
