Why am I saying this? Because of your absolute dedication to the arts. In today's day and age, what the hell is method acting? It's losing 28kgs to act in The Machinist and gaining 45kgs to do Batman Begins, 5 months later. Through malnutrition, through performance in a heavy suit without a word of complaint, you have created the greatest characters of all time. You have brought life to a fantasy that nearly died. You are Batman.
If I wrote you a letter, the words would express nothing of what I feel. I have the utmost respect for you and the highest regard for your life's work. You are Christian Bale - an actor beyond your scripts, with dedication far exceeding your monetary worth. No money in the world could par your brand of method acting, your level of versatility and yet you settle for chub change.
You do not delight in sicentology, you do not seek the limelight but the limelight seeks you. You live privately and won't name your wife. You're privileged, but reject fame and the corruption that goes with it.
You had 25 productions and I never knew your name.
But now I know.. you are not a magician, a psychotic nor a superhero.. you are all of those and more - you are simply inspirational.
