Even Critics Lag
January 17th 2007 13:04
Recently, I have been overcome by a bout of blogger's lag. I suppose that's a 'sly' allusion to online video gaming, where the game data moves faster than the graphical representation and causes lapses in gameplay. I'm sure that's how it works, I've never really performed a computer autopsy.
So Blogger's Lag - and I'm sure I'm not the first, nor will I be the last to use that phrase - has struck. For the purposes of this conversation, I guess it will refer to the "catching up" process after days that did not accomodate all of one's routine.
I'm sure all of you have had your time with the lag, but most are more organised than I am. Did anyone get to the tennis yesterday? It was sweltering hot! My extended family arrived by plane that very night as well, so that capped off a day where I achieved nothing of my normal routine. I must admit, lag felt pretty good last night. I slept like a baby wilderbeast.
Today was quite similar - I had some terribly clerical University business to get up to and saw the family again. I managed to fit in some gym time, but couldn't get on to the internet until now.
So that's my story - a lot to do and very little time to do it. Unfortunately, Orble doesn't stop for anybody. Am hoping to get back to the basics in the following days.
By the way, does anyone have any ideas where to take an Italian family of five, visiting Melbourne ? This has been a problem for many weeks...
Thanks everyone for putting up with the blogging inconsistency !
