Are We Beer Friendly?

Australians love to think of themselves as the beer international of the world. They will all be sadly disappointed by the latest statistics of the world’s big beer centres. They don’t even get a mention.
According to the latest poll by Lonely Planet, the best cities for beer which, according to them, is the world’s third most sought after beverage after water and tea, gave Munich the biggest thumbs up at 29%, Bruges 20%, Prague 19% followed by Dublin at 18%, London 8% and Portland 7%.
The poll was conducted through Facebook and Lonely Planet quickly had responses from over 1200 travellers rating their most favourite beer cities.
The whole poll was condensed to which cities had the best beer and the best beer culture and travelers were pretty quick to put in their votes. The results can be viewed here.
What does Australia have to do to get in the running? Perhaps an appraisal of the winning cities in the poll wouldn’t go astray. Maybe a bit more flamboyance or a major festival wouldn’t hurt either.

Real beer drinkers don't have time to take survey's - they're in the pub - err drinking beer.
