AIDS AND ABBOT - THE MOTION PICTURE
See why the critics are calling this Government's $10 million AIDS campaign "...provocative, enthralling and absolutely terrifying..."
"A masterpiece of cinematographic genius..."
"Left audiences feeling insecure, ashamed and disgusted by their own perversions"
" 5 stars... * * * * * "
"YOU CAN'T MISS THE FIRST 20 SECONDS !"
Okay, maybe I've fudged the truth a little (or a lot)... but the Australian Government is really keen on their new AIDS vendetta. Problem is, they don't have any ideas. $10 Million can buy the Prime Minister a lot - including a convincing election campaign (something lacking from last year's war of the words), so why does he want to target AIDS ?
Maybe he doesn't. But Federal Health Minister Tony Abbot does. Surprise, Surprise, the devout catholic is planning a campaign that will largely target gay men. How will the other 80% of the population relate to the ad ? Maybe those of us who aren't male, or are male but straight, don't get AIDS... Is that what he's getting at ?
Tony " The Riddler " Abbott had these comments for the general public : ''It's about getting the necessary information to people who need it the most.'' Wow. My head's spinning after that one. I thought people who could potentially contract AIDS would need the information the most. Isn't that nearly everyone (provided nearly everyone is sexually active) ? But "what we need is responsible behaviour.''. Straight from the horses mouth... I know, I can't believe he said that either.
But rest assured, you'll not see any more of the much-famed Reaper, who ran ramped (effectively) through TV sets almost two decades prior. No, Abbott is a lateral thinker - he wants something sensible, yet direct. I knew those horrific car crash ads and images on cigarette packets were useless. Perhaps a formal statement from a respected public figure will suffice... Now where can we get one of those?

There are too mainy failed 'Seminarians' in this world ... Abbot? ... He's a failed seminarian ... a modern-Catholic disgrace to the word 'Catholic' ... He's Catholic in name only ... not in practice ... (Just like me ...
But fuck, If I ever dribble shit like him? Come around to my place and put me down will you? ...
David ...

Sorry to hear about your Seminarians. I suppose it's the nature of the faith; when the church can't teach consistency then you're bound to run into problems.
Not surprised you don't practice anymore. Neither do I. There was one bloke with really big mitts. Loved him to death. What a great priest. He did slideshow presentations and related everything to food and football. That's modern-day catholicism for ya.
No worries, I'll put you down if you turn out like Abbott.

Hey cool ! that's a great cause Sisi !!
I reckon if Abbott were serious about this, he'd give it a red hot go. Or at least promote the stuff.
Perhaps if he dressed up his daughters and wife in MAC Viva lipgloss, he'd probably get a little more respect from the community. Provided he didn't parade them around like show ponies.
Great work, Sisi. Love the input

Sensible and direct eh? Well, a politician is never going to be able to come up with something like that.

Anthony,
I find it very difficult to take Tony Abbott seriously ever since that "lost son, no lost son, I only had sex with my girlfriend because I was confused and at the time was considering becoming a catholic priest" debacle.
He has said in the past that he doesn't let his faith or his beliefs cloud his judgement when it comes to decision making on policy but how can that be? He is either lying to himself, his church or the public. Whichever way you cut it, he's lying.
Politicians can be infuriating.
Love & stuff

Yep, he's always lying about something, but he's Catholic, you know, what can you do? Politicians are always infuriating. They're the reason I write so many angry posts.
You're right Kylie. He is a bit of an animal's bodily waste distributor, - but you said it so much nicer. Maybe someone on Orble should come up with the ad. I reckon we got a good chance.
Thanks for the comments guys !
